So the sun is out, and whilst we have such lovely weather, and we know how short the British summers can be, I wanted to share something with you for you to make. This flower collar dress style is bold and playful and perfect to introduce your little one to nature.
Ideal too for summer parties, and perfect as a bridesmaid dress for weddings
The flower collar dress is the perfect for makers with some skill level as the sewing around the collar which is bagged through requires some precision, and extra care, but don't let this put you off, as the dress itself is quite easy to make. You can choose from a plain or printed fabric - I love the classic Delilah Tana Lawn from Liberty London , or choose something funky from The Homemakery You'll need approximately one metre, plus contrast for the collar.
The free dress pattern download and instructions are available here.
The pattern itself is the simple A-Line dress block to which you can add funky pockets of applique using the templates form the book, so it's a really simple and adaptable start for you.
I'm more than happy for you to contact me for any advice or tips if you need them.
Meanwhile I've had an incredibly busy few weeks working with my super stylist photographer team Jenny Murdoch and Will Shaddock creating some more stunning images for my second book which will be available in Spring 2016 . More about that soon. For now: Happy Sewing!
